Charles Eames was born on June 17, 1907 in Saint Louis, Missouri where he studied architecture at Washington University and then later opened an architectual practice. In 1941, Charles Eames married his Cranbrook colleague Ray Kaiser and moved with her to Los Angeles, California where they worked and lived together for the rest of their lives.
