Hans Wagner was born on April 2, 1914 in Southern Denmark. He got a very early start working as an apprentice to a carpenter. In his mid years Hans Wegner worked for some time for Arne Jacobsen, another famous Danish designer. Wegner was in charge of the furniture in the Aarhus Municipal Hall, which was designed by Arne Jacobsen. After a several years working under Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner started his own company. Along with fellow architect, he drew furniture for FDB (a Danish chain of grocery stores), spearheaded by Erik Kold - who founded an organization of Danish furniture makers that launched Danish design abroad.
Wagner designed over 500 chairs RWA Office Design Solutions carries the following modern classic furniture pieces by Hans Wagner: the Wishbone chair, and the Ox chair.
